Approaching Hard Passages

Series: Esther

Dr. John MuhlfeldMay 14, 2023Passage: Esther 9:1-19

What do you do with a passage where God’s people kill over 75,000 of their enemies in a single day, petition the king to allow a second day of slaughter, impale their dead foes on poles for everyone to see, and then throw a giant party to celebrate? Esther 9 is a challenging chapter that provides an opportunity to consider how all of God’s word is holy and necessary in His unfolding plan of salvation. Sometimes the hardest passages of Scripture point us most clearly to the Savior who turned the tables on our greatest enemies of all - sin and death - so that we might live through faith in Him.
