Dr. John MuhlfeldJanuary 8, 2023Passage: Esther 1:1-9
By all visible accounts, Ahasuerus (Xerxes) was a great king. He ruled over 127 provinces from Africa to India and commanded the largest empire the world had ever known. Yet for all his earthly power and opulence, he was nothing compared to the invisible King of the universe who rules over all. The book of Esther begins with an earthly feast that was doomed to frustration. The Bible ends with a heavenly feast that brings eternal joy for those who have been saved by the unseen King of Kings.
