Esther had virtually no earthly chance of convincing the king to reverse an irreversible law, at huge financial cost, with embarrassment to himself, contrary to the counsel of his most trusted official. But Esther had petitioned the Lord Most High who directs the hearts of kings, and after three days of prayer and fasting, she was granted wisdom from God to advance His purposes. So it is today with every believer who asks God for wisdom to live for His glory. He grants it through the grace of His Son who is wisdom incarnate, Jesus Christ.
