At the start of a new year, we may already be thinking about reaching new goals or returning to better habits. But the godly leadership of King Hezekiah reminds us that what we need more than lifestyle change is a return to the Lord in our hearts—in particular, growing in humility and gratitude for his past salvation and his ongoing blessings, all of which are ours only because Hezekiah’s greater Son, Jesus, suffered the wrath we deserve for our pride and failure to acknowledge the Lord as we should.
