This annual event is held at Spruce Lake in October. Normally a group of men leave early Friday morning for a pre-retreat breakfast/golf outing. On Friday evening the official retreat is kicked off with a dinner at a steakhouse in Mt. Pocono. Highlights on Saturday include the formal Men’s retreat presentation. The afternoon hours and late evening provide opportunities for informal times of prayer, fellowship, a hike up the mountain, testing one’s skill on the confidence course, ping pong, board games and the annual camp fire extravaganza. On Sunday morning we gather for our last session and the retreat officially concludes after lunch. The annual retreat has proven to be a great time of relaxation and spiritual growth for the men of Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Breakfasts are held on the second Saturday of the month at Henning’s Market Community Room in Harleysville with an average of 20 men in attendance. The buffet breakfast begins at 7:30 A.M. and the program includes a great devotional message from Scripture followed by announcements and prayer. We normally finish by 9:00 A.M. so everyone can get started on the weekend chores. All men are encouraged to join us and first time attendees will be treated to a free breakfast.
This informal fellowship is for all men as they share breakfast from 6:30 - 7:30 A.M. It’s a time for early risers to begin their day with Christian brothers engaged in discussions about work, church, sports, home life and personal encouragement.
