Children's Ministry

The Children’s Ministries are designed to assist our parents as they bring up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Sunday Morning Options:

Nurseries are available during Sunday School (infants – 2 year olds) and the worship service (infants – 4 year olds) and are staffed by caregivers who have been thoroughly screened. Please see our nursery brochure for details.
If you have any questions, please contact our Children's Ministry Coordinator, Emily Waltenbaugh.

9:15 - 10:00 A.M. - Classes are available for 3 year olds – adults.  Please visit the Christian Education page for additional information.

Just before the sermon, children ages 5 - 3rd grade may exit for a time of age appropriate learning which prepares them to better understand and appreciate the various elements of the worship service.

Other Ministries (meeting September to May):

All children age 3 through grade 12 are encouraged to participate in Heart Hiders, a memory work program which may be joined at any time between September and May. The Memory Work Notebook given at baptism is used and each participant follows the material at his or her own age or grade level. This is a wonderful opportunity for children and students to begin the life-long process of hiding God’s Word in their hearts.

You may contact the office if:

  • You would like more information
  • A Memory Work Notebook is needed
  • You wish to volunteer as a listener to recitations

Girls in Kindergarten through 6th grade gather to study God's Word, serve others, be creative and have lots of fun together.  Our meetings and activities encourage life-long friendships centered on Christ, with the hope that these strong Christian bonds will play a key role in their maturity as teenagers.  Regular meetings are at the church from 6-7:30 P.M. on the third Sunday of each month and usually include a lesson, game, craft and snack.

Sonflower Girls is designed to:

  • Help develop godly character in our girls as they interact
  • Assist in the creation of friendships among children at Covenant by creating an atmosphere in which meaningful relationships can be built
  • Foster intergenerational relationships between students and adult volunteers

Girls in 6th grade are also welcome to participate in the Youth Ministry.

Boys in 1st through 6th grade meet on the third Sunday of the month from 6-7:30 P.M., usually at the church. Meetings include a Bible lesson, games and snacks.  Yearly service projects are also planned.

Trailblazer Boys is designed to:

  • Help develop godly character in our boys as they interact
  • Assist in the creation of friendships among children at Covenant by creating an atmosphere in which meaningful relationships can be built
  • Foster intergenerational relationships between students and adult volunteers

Boys in 6th grade are also welcome to participate in the Youth Ministry.
