In any area of life, a few key words can help focus us on our mission. Timothy faced the daunting challenge of shepherding a diverse church amid an unbelieving culture, while countering false teachers and dealing with his own weakness. To bolster his labors in the Gospel, Paul issued a sacred charge to encourage him to persevere with humility and faith in the transcendent God who dwells in unspeakable glory. Faith, humility, and perseverance remain key words that will help us fight the good fight of the faith today as we follow our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
